Once upon a time..

Once upon a time, there was a blah blah blah prince, from blah blah blah land (NOT IMPORTANT), called Sang Nila Utama, who landed on our shore (probably known as a red pimple to Indonesia, and a pi sai to Taiwan). He saw a tiger, which he thought was a lion. (Come on la, you think you landed in the Democratic Republic of Congo, got lion ah?) and everyone around him went, "yes yes, that is a lion, My Majesty!" And so, tadah, we are known as Singapura.

Sang Nila Utama was not only suffering from short sightedness, he probably also suffered from a ailment of having huge, enlarged testis (more crudely, balls, poor him), which lead to his followers having to carry his heavy balls everywhere he went. (Sniggers, Singapore has lions!)

In modern day Singapura, it happens too, and its in the form of:
"wow YOG exceed the budget more then by 3 times, how ah? What do you all suggest we say to the media?"
"well, its okay minister! we can say the benefits outweigh the exceeded cost due to international exposure blah blah blah..."

shortsighted + heavy testis. now lets combine the two stories into explaining why our NTU logo is a lion, and not a __________?

So, did our founding fathers of NTU thought he saw a lion in the SAFTI MI forests (The huge patch of forests behind NIE), or was he, erm. shortsighted and had heavy testis?

What IF, he did not see neither a tiger nor a lion in the SAFTI MI forests? Imagine, what sort animal will lurk in the forests of SAFTI MI? A tiger, a lion, or a wild boar, or a...........................

What do you think? :)
